What is the DNSH assessment?

DNSH (Do No Significant Harm) is a principle developed under the Green Deal for Europe to ensure that no investment or activity funded by the EU significantly harms the environment. The DNSH principle is specified in Article 17 of the Taxonomy Regulation (EU) 2020/852, which defines six environmental objectives against which projects must be screened. These six objectives include:
Climate change mitigation
Adaptation to climate change
Sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources
Transition to a circular economy
Pollution prevention and control
Protecting and restoring biodiversity and ecosystems
