Community energy projects are often aligned with national and international climate and energy targets. They help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase the share of renewable energy and promote energy efficiency. In some cases, these projects can directly contribute to national commitments such as those set out in the Paris Agreement or the EU’s sustainable energy targets.
