- We help municipalities with
Measuring tree health and climate benefits, citywide. Tree by tree. Using satellite data.
Contact us to learn moreSatellite imagery data, city data, and expert best practices allow us to bring a bold new service to help cities and municipalities implement more effective urban green policies.

What is UpGreen?
UpGreen identifies and evaluates trees across the city using satellite data and advanced modelling. We map tree crowns and assess key indicators that determine whether your greenery is thriving, cooling the city, sequestering, or silently declining. The output is designed for decision making: clear GIS layers, map catalogues, and a report that helps you prioritize maintenance, renewal, and new planting in the right places.
UpGreen is built to support climate resilience work in practice, from daily green space management to strategic planning and investment targeting.

Benefits of UpGreen with ASITIS
With our UpGreen service, cities get a clear idea of how to map and segment urban green spaces. Why is it important to have the most detailed information about green spaces? Urban greenery has many environmental benefits, such as cooling or cleaning the air. With the help of forecasts, cities can easily plan strategies to increase resilience to climate change, optimise the distribution of green spaces, improve the quality of life of residents and improve socio-economic outcomes.

Tree Survival Capacity
UpGreen
More about Survival CapacitySurvival capacity shows the long term ability of trees to thrive if conditions remain unchanged. It combines current stress factors with productivity to identify trees that are stable, vulnerable, or endangered. This module supports risk based planning, so you can focus care and renewal where mortality risk and costs are highest.

Tree Stress Assessment
UpGreen
Look into Tree Stress AssessmentStress captures how strongly urban conditions push trees beyond their comfort zone. In UpGreen it is assessed as a composite of long term drought stress, heat stress, and other urban stressors linked to roads and traffic. The result helps you locate hotspots where trees are most likely to decline without targeted habitat improvements.

Tree productivity
UpGreen
Learn more about Tree ProductivityProductivity reflects chlorophyll level and photosynthetic activity. It is a practical signal of vitality, leaf health, and the ability to provide key ecosystem services like cooling and carbon uptake. It also helps flag trees that look “green” but are under hidden pressure, or trees that are underperforming even where stress appears low.

Cooling effect
UpGreen
Explore the Cooling EffectCooling effect quantifies the temperature reduction potential of trees, based on evapotranspiration and radiation blocking during hot summer conditions. The calculation is corrected by tree condition, because stressed or low productivity trees cool less. This module links greenery performance directly to thermal comfort and urban heat risk.

UpGreen
Carbon sequestration
Calculate Carbon Sequestrationarbon sequestration estimates how much CO2 trees store, scaled by vegetation index signals and differentiated by broadleaf and conifer groups. It helps translate greenery health into climate mitigation value and supports reporting, prioritization, and communication of benefits.

Copenhagen, Denmark
For the capital of Denmark, we delivered a detailed, citywide greenery audit using satellite based mapping that identifies every visible tree crown and evaluates its condition. UpGreen assessed carbon sequestration, tree vitality and stress factors across all urban green segments.
Lisbon, Portugal
In Lisbon, UpGreen provided a complete greenery audit at the scale of the entire municipality.
