UpGreen
Forest

Your forest is a long term asset that either gains value each year or quietly loses it. UpGreen Forest shows where the forest is growing, where it is stagnating, and where it is starting to decline, early enough to act before damage becomes obvious in the field.

Four benefits of UpGreen Forest

Protection and growth of forest value
We show where the forest is steadily gaining productive value and where there is a risk of decline. Owners can see future gains and emerging risks before they are reflected in financial performance.
Precise intervention prioritization
We help determine where interventions will have the greatest impact. Instead of applying measures across the entire area, you act precisely where the forest is stagnating or beginning to decline. You optimize your budget and maximize effectiveness.
Long term trends instead of a snapshot
Understand whether the forest is improving, stagnating, or starting to decline.
Strategic risk management
We identify critical zones and future hotspots. Owners and forest managers gain a spatial overview that enables timely responses to stress, climate pressures, and loss of productive capacity.

What is UpGreen Forest?

A long term view of forest health.

UpGreen Forest is an analytical tool that evaluates the overall condition of a forest and monitors its development over time.

It does not focus on individual trees, but on the functional condition of the stand, its vitality, water stress and long term trends.

It helps you understand whether the forest maintains its value, increases it, or gradually loses it under climate change conditions.

What does UpGreen Forest monitor

Where the forest is truly growing today and where its future ecological and economic value is declining.
A forest is a long term asset. Its value changes over time depending on productivity, stress and adaptive capacity. UpGreen Forest tracks and clarifies these value changes.
UGF does not replace the forest manager or management plan, but helps prioritise attention, interventions and investments where they have the greatest impact.
UGF enables an indicative expression of changes in forest production value over time. It does not determine timber prices or land market value, but shows value trends and risks.
Let's talk
Aerial view of a dense forest canopy with mixed deciduous and coniferous trees forming a continuous green landscape.
Orthophoto of a forest block with an UpGreen Forest productivity layer displayed in a grid. Dark green cells indicate high tree productivity and strong photosynthetic activity, while lighter green and red patches highlight areas with declining performance and reduced growth potential, supporting targeted management decisions.
What do we assess within UGF?
Stand vitality and productivity
We monitor photosynthetic activity and forest condition using the NDRE index, which indicates how effectively the stand grows and how healthy it is in the long term.
Water stress and drought impacts
The NDMI index helps us evaluate water availability and drought pressure. We identify areas where the forest is under stress and at risk of losing vitality.
Growth trends and increments
By linking with inventory inputs, we evaluate long term stand development, dynamics and real growth potential.
Forest survival capacity
We assess the forest’s ability to maintain or increase its value under changing climate conditions. We show where the stand is stable and where resilience needs to be strengthened.

What this service includes:

You receive decision ready deliverables that fit directly into your workflows:
Vitality and water stress map
A GIS layer showing the current condition of the stand and the level of drought pressure. You can clearly identify stable and risk areas.
Survival capacity map
A GIS layer dividing the territory by development trend: growing, stagnating, declining. It allows you to quickly recognise where the forest is strengthening and where it is losing value.
Overview of areas with increasing and decreasing value
A separate GIS layer for strategic planning of interventions, regeneration or changes in management.
Brief interpretation report
A clear PDF document explaining results, context and recommendations for next steps.
